As a group we took a great intrest in this video being 'Window Licker' by Aphex Twin because it tests the boundaries of what is exceptable for a music video. The video looks into how most R&B music videos are extremely sexism however it takes a twist playing with representation of women by confusing the audience by the women having sexy and curvasious bodies however have horrific, deformed and ugly faces. The video eperiments with irony and intertextuality and combined works very well. The intertextuality being LA gang films and also Hollywood 1950's musicals one being singing in the rain.
From seeing this music video as a group we would like to take this as inspiration when creating our own music video as we all like the meaning within it and we believe we could go further with an idea like this.
